She’d heard murderers have second thoughts at shooting when they know facts about the victim’s life; their names, amount of brothers and sisters, where they went to grade school. So she decided to give it a try; she talked about her day and the friends she’d left behind, of the colors in her dreams and the plans she had. He stared quietly and nodded when needed, listening to all she had to say. He still broke her heart.
